East Coast Greenway's New York to City Island Ride

East Coast Greenway's New York to City Island Ride

Sunday, May 19, 2013 - 9am

A 25-mile, one-way largely off-road bicycle ride from W 43d St. NYC to City Island, at 10-13 mph.  We will ride the East Coast Greenway on the Hudson River Greenway, Van Cortlandt Park paths, Moshulu Greenway, Bronx River Forest, Bronx River Greenway, and Pelham Parkway Greenway. The on-road stretch goes through historic neighborhoods in northern Manhattan and the Bronx.  Lunch will be in City Island at a local picnicking park.  If rain cancels, registrants will receive notice by 7:45 am on day of ride.

Plan on providing your own transportation home.  After lunch, riders will be guided to the nearest subway stop, the 6 stop at Pelham Bay Park, if they wish.

Anthony Savarese, a volunteer member of the East Coast Greenway Alliance, is the leader.  For more information, contact him at
